Default How do I 'donate' Faction ?

As a member of the TC alliance, I've been asked this question repeatedly, so here is the answer for anyone who cares to do so. This is not intended to be a thread about whether you should or not, whether it is fair or not, or a request by me or my alliance to do so, but a thread about how, under the current game mechanics, that you can do it, if you so choose.

If you are in a guild that is not a part of the alliance to which you want to donate faction, you have to press 'G' to bring up your Guild window. Click on your name in the list of members, and select "Leave my Guild".

The remaining steps apply to all, since at this point, you will be guildless.

Arrange for someone, in the alliance to which you wish to donate, to send you a guild invite. This cannot be a 'guest invite' - it has to be a 'member invite'.

Once you accept the invite, by calling up your guild window once again, and selecting accept invitation, you are a member of the alliance.

Visit the 'Faction Transfer' NPC in either Cavalon or House Zu Heltzer. When you transfer faction, you will be asked to type your name in the fill-in area. I always type my character name - I don't know if that is required, but it gets the job done.

Note: Faction transfers can only be done in blocks of 5k faction.

After the faction transfer is complete, you are free to follow the same procedures you did to leave your original guild to leave this guild and rejoin your original guild / alliance.

Other things to keep in mind, when you transfer faction, you are transferring it to the GUILD, not actually the alliance. As long as that particular guild is in the alliance, the alliance derives the benefit, but if the guild leaves, their faction goes with it. You may be directed to a specific guild of the alliance to which to donate faction. That is between you and the people associated with the alliance that you are dealing with.

I hope this info is helpful.

Looks good; just one additional note: There is also a [Faction Transfer] NPC in your guild hall, providing that your guild is in an Alliance and has declared allegiance to either the Kurzicks or Luxons.
